Fascinating points discussed above. I'm going to download this an listen to it tomorrow afternoon. BTW, Brendon, you should have SitePoint include the SEO letter you send to prospects in the Kit. I don't think mine had one, and as I'm an SEO rather than a designer, it would have been great to have!

Keep up the great work!

Gabriel Goldenberg

Hi Brendon,

Haven't been able to join you folks here for a couple months now because of my big move. yesterday I had along drive to make so I dis as i usually do and D/L'd a CD's worth of the latest shows expecting to pleasantly while away the drive time getting back up to date.

Having read your recommendation a month or so back for the Levelator software I assumed ... you know that ass-u-me story ... that you folks had processed the files here. However, if you did, it certainly didn't work right. This show is virtually impossible to listen to ... Anthony's voice is almost totally inaudible when the volume is set so that Tina's voice is at a comfortable level ... and at that volume setting ... Wow! when you laugh ... OMG, makes the car speakers try to jump out of their mounts. My dear wife begged me to tune it off after just a minute or two and she only beat me to the 'eject' button by a few seconds.

Is post-processing in the works for any of these 'casts, or is there a simple way to make the .WAV or .AIFF source available so I could process myself and make it listenable?

Best regards
Dave

That was very informative. I am new to blogging, and discovered the payperpost website. With a marketing backround it's tough to know where to draw the line when it comes to selling

With the mobile phones online in general it's still back in 1994. How many mobile browsers are there? Last I heard there were dozens....and the only one I'd ever use is Opera (because I've heard others are happy with it).

Where we are we get $5/month for unlimited online access during the month. I don't know how the download speeds are, though.

Another problem with mobile phone content is that every browser parses the code differently. This site shows a good example, however, the creator seems to be very pro-Opera (which I'm sure is why I'd want to use it).

The way I see it, the mobile phone content industry is similar to the web in 1994. The telco's control the content 'portals' because they can, but it's only a matter of time before the data costs and transfer speeds in Australia become more inline with overseas markets and then someone else comes along and provides a decent user search facility that can bypass the dismal array of content provided by the telco's.

I think the telco's will eventually have to waiver to consumer demand, even if it we have to do it one megabyte at a time!

The overriding problem in mobile content is the prohibitive cost. $1/megabyte? Get real. In America you can get a $25 mobile internet cap which has 2gigabytes on it! But, the telco's can't give us THAT deal because it would outshine their scammy $29 'broadband' which only includes 200megabytes.

Who wants to overthrow the Big4 with me?

The reason why "beer ads" have no Call To Action (CTA) or images of people going to the bottle-shop and buying it is that they are not allowed to be seen as "encouraging drinking". One of those funny rules in Australia.

I heard something vagely recently (over a beer with mates) that the big budget Tooheys New commercial (where they catapult stuff from roof-tops) had the ending changed as it showed people dancing and been happy. If you see the ad now it's a lot more somber (sober).
