Oh, I forgot one good item of feedback, lest I forever be branded as just another 'can't be pleaed". I mentioned earlier both the overall audio dynamic range issue and the difference in level between Brendon and Tina. These issues seem to have greatly improved in recent broadcasts. Thanks.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your feedback, it's appreciated. We always like to know how people listen to our podcast - ie. as they are released, or several at a time, on their mp3 player, PC, in their car, etc. You raise an interesting point about the ratio of "fluff" to content in the shorter shows, and we'll definitely think about creating a new intro.

To answer your question about the interview with our local PR expert Chelsea, she's been very busy recently, so we will now be interviewing her next month. Sorry about the delay, but we haven't forgotten what we promised!

Regards,
Tina

Hi Brendon, Hi Tina,

It's been a couple weeks now since you changed the format of the show. My vote? The new format is a big step down from the original weekly, 3 subject shows.

The notifications of new shows come too frequently (and at odd times, since you produce on different days in kind of a will-o-the-wisp fashion), and to listen to any podcast requires stopping what one is doing, going and downloading the 'cast, finding time to listen. To do two or three 'casts a week means double or treble the disruptions to the audience's week.

And the .mini' shows don't se4em as good. Let's face it, there is a certain amount of 'fluff to every broadcast ... theme music, making saccharine 'nice nice' to Tina (Quite frankly, you two could work at presenting a more formal relationship), administrivia about who you are and such. In a 30 minute broadcast, that's maybe 3 to 5 minutes of 'not new info' ... an acceptable amount. Well when the 'casts are only 5 or 10 minutes, the 'fluff' content thus becomes half or more of the presentation.

The shorter shows just seem less focused. Before the listener 'gets' that you are developing a theme, it's over. I have been trying to 'pack' a number of shows onto a CD to listen to as I am driving. I did this very successfully with the longer format shows, even my wife would listen with me ...put 8 or 10 of these 'mini' shows on one disk and listen to it straight ... you'll hit 'Eject' long before the eighth 'been there, done that, and wears the T-shirt' grates upon your ears.

Just some thoughts,
Dave

PS. I was listening to one of the last ‘long format’ shows driving back from the airport a week ago … and you promised a very interesting-sounding interview with a local ‘conventional’ marketing expert … is that lost forever with these choppy, nil-content ‘casts?
